SpamBanish is a spam-call blocking and junk-message filtering utility provided by Weigan Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "we" or "us"). This Privacy Policy applies to SpamBanish on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS.
We attach great importance to the protection of your personal information and privacy. We will provide appropriate security measures for your personal information in accordance with legal requirements and industry-standard security practices.
This Privacy Policy works together with our User Agreement for SpamBanish.
Rules, block lists, message classification, contacts operations, and statistics in SpamBanish are handled primarily on your device. The main app and system extensions share necessary data on the same device through an App Group. We do not upload your message content, call logs, or address book to our servers. The Service currently does not integrate third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not use ads to unlock core features. Optional SpamBanish Premium subscriptions are offered through App Store in-app purchase to unlock advanced capabilities such as call prefix blocking and local refresh of the bundled spam number list.
We will only use your personal information where we have a lawful basis to do so. Under applicable law, we may process your information based on lawful grounds such as your consent, where necessary to perform or enter into a contract with you, or where necessary to comply with legal obligations.
1.1 Call blocking and identification. After you enable the system Call Directory extension, the Service compiles a blocking list on your device from your rules, manually added numbers, and prefix-blocking results, and compiles a caller-identification list from the number list bundled with the app and labels you set. Those lists are then provided to the system extension. When a call arrives, the system uses this precompiled list. It does not submit call audio, full call logs, or the content of that call to us, and we do not upload call lists to our servers.
1.2 Message filtering. After you enable the system Message Filter extension, the system may submit classification queries to our extension. A query may include the sender identifier and message body. The extension matches your rules and message-bombing protection on your device, and by default classifies with an on-device machine-learning model. If you choose system AI, the message body is processed by Apple's system AI / Apple Intelligence capabilities, which are governed by Apple's privacy policy. The current Message Filter extension handles queries locally and does not send message content to servers we operate, and it does not forward queries to a network service operated by us.
1.3 Custom rules and local statistics. Allowlists, blocklists, match conditions, prefix rules, category toggles, bombing-protection thresholds, and block-count statistics are stored locally on your device (including App Group shared storage) so that rules can take effect and protection summaries can be shown in the app. Sender and sample text you enter for rule testing or correction may also be saved as local rule conditions.
1.4 Contacts. After you grant contacts access, the Service may read contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, and organization names to: choose numbers for blocking or identification rules; view, search, edit, add, or delete contacts; and find duplicate contacts or contacts without phone numbers. Address-book data remains in the system contacts store and on your device. We do not upload it to our servers. Deleting a contact writes to the system address book and may be irreversible.
1.5 In-app purchases and entitlement verification. If you purchase a SpamBanish Premium monthly or annual subscription, purchase confirmation, subscription status, and product identifiers are returned by Apple to unlock the corresponding benefits on your device. We do not collect or store your full payment card numbers or other sensitive payment credentials.
1.6 What we do not do. We do not require you to create an in-app account operated by us. We currently do not integrate third-party advertising or user-behavior analytics SDKs such as Firebase, Umeng, Pangle, or AdMob. The current version does not provide cloud sync operated by us, and does not use remote push notifications as a core feature. We do not upload message bodies, call content, or your address book to our servers, do not read contacts without your permission, and do not request camera, microphone, photo library, location, Bluetooth, or other sensitive permissions unrelated to core protection (subject to your actual build).
1.7 Personal information inventory. To meet applicable privacy laws and app-store compliance requirements, we disclose below the categories of personal information that SpamBanish may involve. The purpose, method, and scope described for each category apply only to the versions or scenarios noted. Categories marked as "not collected" mean that our app does not actively collect, read, or upload that type of information for the stated purpose.
This section describes third-party services that the Service may involve. Actual capabilities may differ by operating-system version.
The Service uses Apple's Call Directory (CallKit), Message Filter (IdentityLookup), Contacts, and In-App Purchase (StoreKit), as well as optional on-device machine learning (Core ML) and system AI (Foundation Models / Apple Intelligence, where applicable). Call blocking uses a precompiled local list. Message classification is handled in the on-device extension. If you enable system AI, that processing is governed by Apple's policies. Payment flows are handled by Apple.
Apple privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
The Service mainly uses operating-system capabilities for local storage, App Groups, system extensions, networking (for purchase verification), and UI rendering. Except for app-store purchase verification, we do not upload your messages, call lists, or address book to our own cloud servers. The current version does not provide cloud sync operated by us. If a future version enables iCloud or other sync, we will update this Policy as required by law.
The iOS / iPadOS / macOS / visionOS builds offer SpamBanish Premium monthly or annual subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit). Payment flows are handled by Apple; we do not collect or store your full payment card numbers or other sensitive payment credentials. We receive only purchase confirmation, subscription status, and product identifiers to unlock Premium benefits on your device (such as call prefix blocking, spam-number-list updates, and Family Sharing, as shown in the app). You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings. Family Sharing availability depends on App Store product configuration and your Apple account settings.
Core protection features (such as custom rules, manual blocking, and message bombing protection) are free for all users. Premium benefits mainly unlock advanced blocking capabilities, as shown in the app.
SpamBanish requests permissions only as needed for protection and contacts management. We ask for your consent through the system permission dialog or system-settings guidance. Permissions you deny will limit only the related features. Permissions are described by platform below.
Used to choose numbers for blocking or identification rules, and to view, edit, add, or delete contacts, including finding duplicates and contacts without phone numbers.
Used to classify system-submitted message queries on your device. If this extension is not enabled, the Service does not receive message content.
Used to provide blocking and identification lists to the system so spam calls can be blocked or labeled. If this extension is not enabled, call blocking does not take effect.
Used for App Store billing, restore purchases, and subscription status verification. The Message Filter extension does not currently send message content to our servers. If you enable system AI, that processing is governed by Apple's policies.
Rule management, contacts-related features, and purchase verification may be available. Call Directory and Message Filter availability depends on whether the operating system supports them. Contacts and network permissions are used for the same purposes described above.
You can manage permissions for this app at any time in your device Settings or app permission settings, and you can disable the relevant system extensions to stop message classification or call blocking.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to data portability where applicable.
For data processed by Apple or the App Store, you may also exercise choices through the relevant provider's settings and policies. You can stop processing and remove locally stored rules and settings by uninstalling the app, disabling system extensions, withdrawing contacts access, or deleting the app in system settings. The address book itself is managed by the system; contact edits or deletions you make in this app apply to the system address book.
To exercise rights relating to data we control, contact us using the details in Section 7. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by applicable law.
6.1 Rules, block lists, category settings, protection statistics, and app settings you generate through the app are handled and stored primarily on your device. The current version does not provide cloud sync operated by us.
6.2 Purchase and subscription verification data is stored and processed by Apple according to Apple's policies and infrastructure, which may involve servers outside your country of residence.
6.3 The Message Filter extension processes system-submitted queries at classification time. We do not store your message bodies on our servers. Rule conditions, blocking/identification lists, and correction text you save remain on your device. Message-bombing protection may briefly store hashed sender frequency information locally, only for as long as needed for that feature. If you enable system AI, Apple's policies govern that processing and any related retention.
6.4 We retain information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. After you uninstall the app or clear data, corresponding local information is deleted, but order records handled by the App Store, and contact changes already written to the system address book, remain subject to those platforms' or system mechanisms.
You may contact us through the following methods to exercise your relevant rights. We will respond as soon as possible.

If you are not satisfied with our response, especially where applicable law grants you additional remedies, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in your country or region. You may also seek resolution through a court of competent jurisdiction where permitted by law.
