CaptureLink Privacy Policy

Last updated:2026.8.26

CaptureLink (which may be displayed as Capture Link) is a game capture and remote play utility provided by Weigan Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies to CaptureLink on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, Android, and HarmonyOS, and explains how we process your personal information.

We take your personal information and privacy seriously and apply appropriate safeguards in line with legal requirements and industry practices.

This Privacy Policy works together with our User Agreement for CaptureLink to form the complete legal framework for your use of the Service.

CaptureLink's core features include capturing game video through capture cards or screen capture, local recording and streaming, and connecting to PlayStation consoles for Remote Play. Video, audio, screenshots, and recordings are processed mainly on your device; we do not upload your game footage library to our servers. The Service currently does not integrate third-party advertising SDKs, and ad viewing is not used as a condition to unlock core features.

1. How We Collect and Use Personal Information

We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis. Depending on applicable law, we may process personal information based on your consent, to perform or enter into a contract with you, or to comply with legal obligations.

1.1 Core app features. To provide capture, recording, streaming, Remote Play, controller support, and network diagnostics, we access camera, microphone, screen recording, local network, Bluetooth, storage, speech recognition, motion sensors, and location (to read Wi-Fi name and signal strength for network diagnostics) through system interfaces when you use related features. Captured, recorded, or streamed video and audio are processed mainly on your device; when you actively stream, connect to Remote Play, or authorize third-party platforms, related data is sent to the services or consoles you choose as required by the feature. We do not use such content to identify you personally, and we do not upload your full recording library to our servers.

1.2 Local preferences and runtime state. We store certain settings locally on your device (such as capture parameters, streaming preferences, Pro entitlement flags, console lists, and UI preferences) so the app can function. On Apple platforms, you may optionally sync some non-sensitive settings through iCloud Key-Value Storage (KVS); synced data is stored in your iCloud account and managed under Apple's iCloud policies.

1.3 Console registration and Remote Play credentials. If you use Remote Play, console registration data, pairing keys, PINs, and related connection parameters are stored mainly in secure on-device storage (such as the Apple Keychain or the Android / HarmonyOS system keystore). If you sign in to PlayStation Network (PSN), OAuth access tokens, refresh tokens, and PSN Account IDs are stored in secure on-device storage and transmitted to Sony servers to complete sign-in and Remote Play. We do not operate PSN, and its processing is governed by Sony's policies.

1.4 Streaming platform OAuth (optional). If you connect Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Bilibili, or similar platforms, related OAuth tokens and channel or account identifiers are stored locally on your device and transmitted to the relevant platform APIs to obtain stream keys or complete streaming setup. We do not store your third-party account passwords.

1.5 Widgets and cross-device sharing (Apple platforms, where available). To show console online status, quick-connect entries, or runtime summaries in widgets, Handoff, or App Groups, summary information may be shared between the app and its extensions through App Groups on your device. Such data is not uploaded to our servers.

1.6 Live subtitles and voice commands (where available). If you enable live subtitles or voice commands, speech recognition may be processed locally through system capabilities. We do not upload recognition results to our servers for profiling or advertising.

1.7 Network diagnostics. To assess connection quality, discover local consoles, or perform port checks, the app may read Wi-Fi name, signal strength, local IP address, and network reachability information. This information is used mainly for local diagnostics and feature operation, not for advertising.

1.8 What we do not do. The Service does not require you to create an in-app account operated by us. We do not provide or distribute copyrighted game content. We currently do not integrate third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs such as Firebase, Umeng, Pangle, or AdMob. We do not read your photo library in the background, and we do not read your contacts, SMS, call logs, or phone number.

1.9 To meet personal information protection and app-store compliance requirements, we describe relevant processing by category below. The stated purpose, method, and scope apply only to the labeled version or scenario; categories marked "not collected" mean the app does not actively collect, read, or upload that type of information for the stated purpose.

2. Third-Party Services

This section describes third-party services that the Service may involve. Actual integrations may vary by platform and feature module.

2.1 Sony PlayStation Network / Remote Play

When you use Remote Play or PSN sign-in, the app communicates with Sony servers. Information involved may include OAuth tokens, PSN Account IDs, console registration data, and connection parameters.

2.2 Streaming platforms (optional)

If you authorize the following platforms, related OAuth and API communications are processed by the respective platform:

2.3 Apple services (iOS / iPadOS / macOS / visionOS)

The Service may use Apple-provided In-App Purchase (StoreKit), iCloud Key-Value Storage, widgets, Handoff, speech recognition, and other system capabilities. Related processing is governed by Apple's policies.
Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

2.4 Google Play (Android, where applicable)

2.6 Open-source and native components

The Service integrates open-source or native libraries such as OpenSSL, Opus, curl, json-c, and miniupnpc, as well as a Remote Play protocol implementation based on chiaki-ng, for encrypted communication, audio codecs, network requests, and console connectivity. These components run on your device and do not upload your personal data to our servers.

3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

On iOS / iPadOS / macOS / visionOS, CaptureLink Pro monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, or lifetime purchases are offered through Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit). Payments are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store your full payment card numbers or other sensitive payment credentials. We receive only purchase confirmation, subscription status, and product identifiers to unlock Pro benefits on your device. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.

On Android, Pro benefits may be offered through Google Play Billing or the billing system of your distribution channel. Payments are processed by the relevant app store. We do not collect or store your full payment card numbers or other sensitive payment credentials.

On HarmonyOS, Pro benefits may be offered through Huawei AppGallery IAP or the billing system of your distribution channel. Payments are processed by the relevant app store. We do not collect or store your full payment card numbers or other sensitive payment credentials.
